We know recycling is important to you. In fact, recycling is the most commonly participated in green activity in the United States. That’s why we are working to make our cartons more recyclable and to help you understand the recycling process for both cartons and bottles.
Expanding Carton Recycling
Tropicana has partnered with Waste Management and carton suppliers around the country to expand carton recycling. Go to www.werecyclecartons.com to find out if cartons are recyclable in your area.
Waste Reduction Efforts
Additionally, we’ve studied our processes to determine where we can recycle less common goods such as cleaning solvents, waste oil, light bulbs, and batteries. Tropicana utilizes highly efficient cleaning chemical systems to sanitize our production systems that reclaim the cleaning chemicals to minimize the usage of those cleaning compounds.
Bottle Recycling
Tropicana products come in bottles as well as cartons. All our bottles are fully recyclable.
Recyclable PETE
Recyclable HDPE
Tropicana 89 ounce and 128 ounce bottles carry both the #2 and #7 recycling codes. Our bottles can be recycled in the #2 stream because almost all the plastic in the bottle is #2 HDPE. A #7 (“other”) code is added because our bottles also contain a thin non-HDPE layer that helps keep the juice fresh.
